Myvi SE 2008 Facelift

New Myvi SE 2008 facelift version has been launched on 10 October 2008. I’m a big fan of local automotive industry so let’s have a quick design review about the exciting new features.

This week, I’ve received a number of visitor who’s looking for Myvi SE. Sorry if you guys had landed on the standard New Myvi 2008 post. So let’s begin with some comparison with the standard Myvi to spot the differences.

No surprise
There’s no surprise with this Special Edition because people had circulated the images of Myvi SE few months ago. Perodua should have terminated the person who responsible to leak the information.

Exterior
myvise01.jpgThe design really follows the Suzuki Swift Sport. Check all the profile lines and the bumper with rounded fog light. perodua-myvi-se-2.jpgTangerine Orange is the best colour to suggest sportiness. Its for Special Edition anyway. I also like the rear bumper design. You may notice that the reflector looks bold and sharp. They also had install side skirts to give Myvi a cooler sporty looks.

Interior
Black leather upholstery really gives an exclusive sporty look to the car.

New Audio System
New 2-DIN audio with Bluetooth was installed. No you can easily play songs from your handphone directly to your car speakers. The placement on the center console looks weird because it leaves some spaces. I wonder how efficient the position of the knob if the driver want to change the volume.

Price
There’s a different variant for colour and transmission. This is ON THE ROAD price as taken from the price quotation.

  • Manual – White – RM49,900
  • Manual – Orange, Black, Silver, Pearl White – RM50,400
  • Automatic – White – RM52,900
  • Automatic – Orange, Black, Silver, Pearl White – RM53,400

Conclusion
Its just a facelift of aesthetic look of Myvi SE. Nothing has been done with the performance. It still runs on 1.3 liter engine. So, if you go for performance, better get Swift which has 1.6 liter engine. But if you just want to have the look, Myvi SE will do.

RuleTheRoad Teaser Website
jazzdc.jpgIf you have checked RuleTheRoad.com.my website, Perodua does have a good marketing strategy. However you cannot access that website anymore because users will be redirected to Perodua Myvi SE official website. The website uses Flash and show a glimpse of the new features. If Perodua really wanted to follow Honda Jazz DefyConvention.com.my website, it should have remain the teaser website.
