Me and 8 of my studiomates went for an edu visit to Proreka (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Puchong. We went with two lecturer, Bro Muhammad and Bro Meor. We departed from KAED at 12.30pm.

According to Google Maps, it’s about 44km and it takes about 45 minutes to reach there via MRR2 and Bukit Jalil Highway. Thanks to my lecturer for paying the bill for our lunch. Next destination is the Proreka factory in Taman Industri, Pusat Bandar Puchong.

So what is Proreka?
Most of you might have already known about the Malaysia first MPV, Proton Exora. Proton and Perodua is the national car maker. They produced and manufactured cars but they don’t do all part of the car. So this is where Proreka comes in.

Basically, Proreka is a Malaysian Tier-1 vendor and manufacturer of OEM and ODM automotive parts and components. Proton & Perodua may have done all the exterior and interior design and major parts for their cars. But they are not producing all the small and fine parts. In short, Proreka as a vendor will produce products such as taillights, gear knobs, engine cover, head and tail lamps etc.

Besides producing original parts for the market, they also produced other custom made cars such as the Proton R3, Alex Yoong Satria Neo car. I can be considered lucky to have the chance to sit inside Alex’s Neo during my visit.

Industrial Design Styling Studio
Some of us was surprised to see Bro Zaim from UTM who is now working as Proreka designers. Last year, we met him during IDEAS 2008 in UTM Skudai. Besides that, they also have clay modelling facilities.

Visiting Faris at Hospital Serdang

After that, we’ve decided to pay a visit to my ex-schoolmate, Faris Razak who suffered with dengue. Alhamdulillah, he is recuperating. I hope he’ll become a better person once he’s get back to life. Image taken from his Facebook
