It’s our house warming in Newcastle

Salam. After two weeks since we lived in our new house, we organized our very own house warming. We invited our Malaysian friends who live in Newcastle.

The Meals

The menu for that day was Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang, Spaghetti Carbonara and Oreo Cheesecake. It was pretty hectic where we have to do everything on our own from buying groceries and preparing the meals for around 75 people. Either the ingredients were hard to find or they were too expensive. If we were in Malaysia, we would have hired a caterer to do all the cooking and organize the event!

There are a few postgraduate students who are studying, either doing their Masters or PhD here. Most of them are married and have children. That’s what make it so lively to be with them. The majority of the students here are studying medicine and some doing architecture and engineering.

Here’s Mrs. Huda entertaining the guests at the dining area. Well, a special thanks to our co-organizers, Reza and Aimi and also to all our guests for that memorable day. It was such an experience preparing and cooking with my wife and housemates for this big event of us!

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading! We’ll update more soon and stay tuned.
