Langkawi Day 3 – Cable Car & Seven Wells

Its the third day in Langkawi. Our main agenda for today is to ride the cable car and swim in the Seven Wells. By the way, today’s theme is Geek in the Pink. Let’s check it out.

We departed from Dsa Motel in Kuah at 9am. Our destination is located about 45 kilometres from the motel. Since we don’t have any breakfast yet, we just drop by a Petronas Station to have some snacks.

Oriental Village – Cable Car

At 10 am, we arrived at Oriental Village. Since we’ve bought the ticket through an agent, we get a special price. Usually, it will cost RM18 for local adults but we got RM14 per pax. Before we ride the cable car, we are not allowed to bring any water. I should have bring a bag so that I can put it there rather than carry it barely.

There are two stations for the cable car. The first one is at Gunung Raya and the highest peak will be the Gunung Macincang. Its been awhile since my last ride of cable car to Genting Highland.

Some trivia

  • The highest peak and viewing deck at Gunung Machinchang is located 710 above sea level.
  • Its also the best place to watch a sunset. You might have to ride the cable car in the evening if you want to do so.
  • If the weather condition is poor, you are not allowed to ride the cable car.
  • Don The Movie – starred by Shah Rukh Khan was also filmed here. Watch it here

After we’ve done some photo shooting on the viewing deck, its time to cross to the other part of the mountain. It is one of the coolest suspension bridge in Malaysia. I guess this is why Che Det wanted to create a curved bridge between Malaysia and Singapore.

Nevertheless, its a very beautiful scenery and experience. I amazed with the structure and engineering of the bridge. We walked all the way to the other side and have another photo shoot. It was very hot in the afternoon. I don’t have my shades yet but I wear my baseball cap. Since its very windy up there, I’ll have to be extra careful otherwise the wind will blow my cap far far away.

We have our lunch at the Oriental Village food court. Most of us go straight away to the food court without exploring the attractions at Oriental Village.

Seven Wells (Telaga Tujuh)

Its our next destination. Its located about 3 kilometers from the cable car area. Seven Wells which means Telaga Tujuh, is a natural waterfall. The water flows and created large water pools. According to the myth, there were some fairies bathe in the wells once. That’s why it can rejuvenate people who bath in the well.

Its quite tiring because we have to climb up the hill to get there. There are two parts of the river. We reached the first area but then we decided to let the girls take the place. Then, all of the guys will have to climb up another 400 meters uphill for the second area.

After climbing up the stairs, we reached our destination. From the picture, you can see that its quite rocky up there. But we still can have fun with all the flowing waters and smooth and slippery rocks. Watch the video here. (For guys only)

About 5pm, we return back to our motel in Kuah. It was another tiring day so we took a nap and prepare for the night activity.

Barbeque and nightlife at Pantai Chenang

We went to Pantai Chenang to have our barbeque dinner at the beach. About 9.30pm, suddenly the rain pours. We have to take a shelter at nearby motel. After the rain has stopped, we continue our dinner and we also enjoy ourselves with the karaoke performance. As I’ve expected earlier, there were lots of old songs collection. But I do have my favourite song which is Belaian Jiwa. Lucky me because they have the song in their collection.

After we have done with the barbeque, we hang out at Pantai Chenang during the midnight. What else we can do in the middle of the night by the dark beach? Again, its photo shoot session in the dark.

Taking jumping picture is tiring. So, my friend decided to take a slow shutter photo. Each of them have to hold their handphone and move the phone to create a character. This is the result after opening the shutter for 30 seconds!

I was very thirsty and there’s no convenience store opened late at night. So some of us went to a reggae club at the beach. We quench our thirst with some soft drinks.

About 2pm, we arrived our motel and have a good night sleep.
