I’d like to share about interior design for young bachelors like me, especially when you are living in a small room in an apartment. Bedroom is the most important space in our life. It has been said that a bedroom can reflect the identity of the person. I bet you guys must have watch MTV Room Raiders on how they choose their date by investigating the room.
Design VS Decorate
First, you must know how to differentiate between designing and decorating. Designing is meant for the function, space planning and ergonomic. Practicality comes first and aesthetic comes later. On the other hand, decorating is purposely to beautify the space with colours and accessories.
The same goes to website designer where it is important to display the content rather than fancy graphics. Most people can decorate their own house but not all house will have a good space planning. This is where ID plays an important role.
Most men will choose function over form. But I can see some trend that some of my metrosexual friend will has a sense of decorating their bedroom. Most men will choose to have all the basic furnitures such as bed, table and closet without much accessories.
Hobbies and decoration
However men are quite creative in manifesting their hobbies and interest for decoration purpose. From my own observation, some of the decoration might be posters of the favourite football star and some toys or action figures also can tells something about that guy.

Welcome to my room
This is my room in BJ Court during my stay in Penang. I’ve got the idea to post this blog after reading an entry from Szakif and Mira Zizan. I’m not going to talk about my desktop only, so let me talk about my room.
If you have a small room, it is better to reduce the number of furniture like table and chairs. Its fine with me eventhough I placed my desktop on the floor because I’m just use the PC for surfing and blogging. It won’t have much effect in term of ergonomic wise such as strain from poor sitting posture. I also want enough space inside my room so that I can perform prayers peacefully.
I don’t have any bed. But its fine because I still can sleep on the comfy mattress on the floor. However, there’s some consideration in positioning your mattress which will affect your sleep. The best position should be in front of the window. This can help you to wake up in the morning. It doesn’t matter where you put your bed but I like to see the sun, so that I won’t miss my Subuh
So let me just share about the most important part of my room.
