Salam. I’ll write a series of entries about my wedding design project. This is perhaps the biggest design project I’ve ever had since it cost a lot of money.
In the next few entries, I’ll be covering about how I designed my own wedding to make it special, at least for me and my family.
In this entry, I’ll share about the design process of the emblem, or the logo of my wedding. This is the identity or trademark of my wedding. Just like other events or programme, the logo will be used everywhere from invitation cards to buntings and more.
Choosing Ambigram Concept
I was inspired by an article from Hongkiat, 40 Cool and Creative Ambigram Designs last June 2010.
An ambigram (from Latin: ambi both + gram = letter) is a word or words that can be read in more than one direction, where the word reads the same when upside down or turn over to form an entirely new word.
So I’m planning to design my own emblem based on ambigram concept but I’m not sure what should I write. Since most wedding card I’ve seen usually will put a first letter of the bride and grooms’ name, I guess I’ll just combine letter A and H together.

Choosing the right font: ParkAvenue BT
After few sketches, I’ve got the basic idea on how it will looks like. I’m using Illustrator and try to see any font that can be altered to suit my design. Finally, ParkAvenue BT seems just right.
Here is the animation of my emblem, rotated and read the same letters of A and H.
Well, that’s all for now. In the next entry, I’ll share about choosing theme colour for my wedding.
i’m so in love with the emblem..n more in love with the designer himself. hihi.
