Difference between a Wife and a Girlfriend

Salam. This is the first guest post in my blog. As I’ve mentioned earlier, this entry will discuss about love and relationship. I’ve given this topic to Mr. Aidil and this is what he thinks about it. Check it out.

There is a saying “Your wife is your girlfriend, but your girlfriend is not your wife”. I don’t know what you guys think but I think that saying is so true in many ways.

So,in what ways? Or, simply put, whats the difference between a wife and a girlfriend?

Ok,the thing is, I’m not married yet, but I do have a girl now. So,I never have someone to call my wife yet.I never face a ‘wife’ before in life.

Since this is an interesting topic,I did some research and this is what I found.

Top 5 Differences between a Wife and a Girlfriend:

1. The commitment is different, but the goal should be the same (or not, if you are just playing around)
With a wife, your commitment should be more because it involves a lot aspects in your daily life with her. Your commitment is more to providing her a good life and grow a family. But with a girlfriend, the commitment is much simpler.Make her happy and take her on dates!

But the goals with a wife or a girlfriend should be the same.Move the relationship to the next level and towards happiness.
Goal with girlfriend:take the her to the next level by making her your wife
Goal with wife : take her to the next level by being a good provider and start a family

2. They take care of you in different ways
With wife, you can bet that you will have someone taking care of you 24/7 (or in some cases, the opposite).Since she is living with you, she’ll have easier access on you.And also, she can take care of you in everything(clothing, foods, house)
With girlfriend, she will take care of you but still she has limitation. Most of the time, she will be there when you are sick or tell you how to dress nicely, but cleaning the house, washing your laundry is not in the package…yet.

3.They are not treated the same
They are tend to be treated differently.A guy usually treat his girlfriend better than he treat his wife later on. Its not something that should happen but I guess guys always make this mistake and it can lead into unhealthy relationship.Whats your view on this one?

4.Maintenance
Wife-more expansive to maintain because now,you are basically a provider and she is your responsibility. You have to take care of her. That includes make-ups,trip to saloons, her pocket money, groceries, long list of shopping items, etc, etc.

Girlfriend-she will not demand you lots of things because she are basically taken care of by her parents. So,all you need to worry about is to pay for ice-cream and movie tickets.

5.How she handles you when you are in dilemma
Wife is someone who tells you to take a leak if things go out of hands.
Girlfriend is someone who has the tendency to show all tantrums if there is a disturbance in the love life.
Whatever the differences is,you should treat your wife and your girlfriend (I mean ‘or’) the same way.Just put your love and passion towards her, take care of her and be there for her.The principe is always the same no matter what is the status. As a man,you have to ‘steer’ the relationship towards what you and your partner dream of together, whether she is your girlfriend or your wife.

I end my first guest post here with a simple joke on Wife vs Girlfriends

Wife is like a TV and Girlfriend is like a hand phone.

At home watch TV. Go out bring h/p.

No money sell TV. Got money change h/p.

Sometimes enjoy TV but most of the time play with h/p.

TV free for life but….h/p, if you don’t pay, “The number you have dial is not in service” ….!

TV is big, bulky and most of the time old, but handphone is cute, slim,
curvy and very portable at any time.

Operational cost for TV is often acceptable but for HP is high and often demanding,

Most Important, TV got remote… HP don’t have..

Last but not least……….

TV do not have virus, but h/p yes…………have VIRUS……………
once get it, HABIS LA…. …. hahahahaha……

so better choose TV

end note:
TV more reliable, h/p more fashionable…

    1. yeap. since you’ve mention not all, then its true. depend on both party la i guess.

its up to us to give awareness about one’s responsibility and respect before and after marriage.

      thanks for your opinion!

  3. The most obvious thing is, yang isteri itu halal.

Cerita Isteri Untuk Suamiku itu ada sekuelnya kan? Suami untuk isteriku, kalau tak silap tajuk dia. Huhu.

    1. yep. isteri itu halal untuk suaminya.

tapi saya tak tahu pula ada sekuel yang bertajuk Suami untuk Isteriku. pelik plak bunyi ceritanya. laki tu nak isteri dia kawen lain? ermm.. *garu kepala

    1. er.. don’t get mad eh. I should have edited some of this content before i publish it. next time i’ll be careful with my guest post..

btw i do think that akhil hayy is a confused guy. i also confused with him. still considering himself as ustaz? aiya..

    2. no offence on the tv part.its just an easy metaphor to get the idea. Its not to be taken seriously.Life cant be to serious all the time.Plus, thats why i put ‘humor’ at the metaphor..

i have no disrespect to women,in fact i’ve dedicated my blog in improving men to be better lovers for women..

but if in any ways anybody feel offended by that,do accept my apology.
